We’re partnering with a stable and growing financial services company to hire a Director of Accounting to lead and strengthen accounting operations across a multi-entity portfolio. This role offers a unique blend of accounting leadership, financial analysis, and business partnership. While it includes ownership of close standards, GAAP compliance, and reporting quality across the portfolio, the position is less about day-to-day transactional work and more strategic, partnering with executive leadership and portfolio finance teams to drive consistency, insight, and value creation across the organization.
Salary Range: $160,000 – $180,000 base salary plus additional incentives.

Responsibilities:
- Lead accounting oversight across multiple entities, ensuring consistent GAAP application, close timelines, and reporting standards
- Review monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and key accounting judgments for accuracy and completeness
- Implement standardized close calendars, reporting packages, and key control checklists
- Serve as a resource for complex accounting topics (e.g., revenue recognition, debt accounting, equity transactions, intercompany activity)
- Design and enhance internal controls; identify and remediate process and control gaps
- Support audit readiness and lender/investor reporting requirements, including covenant reporting
- Partner with external tax providers to support state and federal compliance needs
- Prepare executive-level reporting packages and support ad-hoc analysis requests
- Mentor and develop accounting team members; drive process improvements and documentation
- Support integration of newly acquired entities and finance process enhancements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
- Public accounting foundation (Big 4 or similar preferred) plus industry experience
- Manufacturing accounting exposure
- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience supporting a multi-entity environment preferred
- Advanced Excel skills; strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- ERP and end-to-end accounting process experience; ability to drive standardization and scalable reporting
