About the Opportunity:

Our client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer who is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, managing, and upgrading the company’s network infrastructure throughout North America.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design of proper network architecture to achieve EDFR’s business strategy goals
  • Coordinate with the team to develop and maintain proper processes, procedures, and system documentation according to industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with the EDFR compliance team to align IT processes with all regulatory requirements
  • Analyze and ensure proper monitoring solutions are in place that will notify and alert the teams of potentially issues that could impact the availability and functionality of critical systems and applications
  • Facilitate the deployment of new infrastructure and application integrations to support business needs
  • Perform network, hardware, and software incident and problem resolution using the IT ticketing
  • As part of the IT team, provide support for internal Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity initiatives as well as analyze and mitigate security risks at the network level
  • Responsible for the maintenance, updates, planning and installation of network equipment and software
  • Analyze, implement, and install hardware & software for the network infrastructure
  • Installation of network infrastructure, standardization, and plans/designs LAN, WAN, Firewall, VPN, Security, and wireless solutions for all EDF locations
  • Coordinate the monitoring and maintenance of the hardware and software for multiple domain operations
  • Upgrade network equipment while maintaining established standards and NERC compliance regulations
  • Monitor and maintain hardware & software performance for the network infrastructure
  • Analyze and provide guidance for and apply network patches and fixes
  • Provide direct support for end-users
  • Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported
  • Research and test new networking technologies in support of business operations
  • Assist in the installation of server systems infrastructure standardization, server storage, backup, and datacenter communications for all EDF locations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience designing, implementing, administering, and supporting network infrastructure required
  • Networking infrastructure including firewalls, routers, switches, VPN solutions, border connection devices and security
  • Proven work experience implementing technology in a large, multi-site corporate environment and an ability to solve complex technical problems and issues
  • Experience with Cisco and Palo Alto network infrastructures
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
  • Technical/operational level understanding of carrier-based services (TDM, POTS, MPLS, -VPN, and fixed wireless) and direct experience troubleshooting circuits
  • Networking concepts, Encryption technologies, Data center facilities and Disaster Recovery Principals
  • ITIL framework
  • Capacity and resource planning capabilities and knowledge of associated relevant tools
  • Knowledge of data center security policies and procedures, penetration testing, and methods of auditing
  • Strong incident management skills
  • Regulatory compliance experience
  • Exceptional work ethic and time management skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time, and on short notice
  • Occasional on-call after hours is necessary for problem resolution, and project management/installations
