About the Opportunity:
Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant who is responsible to lead the reporting finance function through a collaborative approach. Responsible for ensuring financial statements are prepared to a high standard and in conjunction with the team you provide key stakeholders with valuable business support and partnering which includes:
  • Responsibility for the North American monthly management reporting, and key inputs into the forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Provision of timely and relevant reporting to key stakeholders and delivering improvements in reporting to the business, and
  • Guidance, mentoring and development of members within the Finance Team.

Salary: $95,000 – $110,000 
Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Complete weekly, fortnightly, and monthly Sales Reports for distribution to the North American business
  • Ownership of the end-to-end Month-End Close duties including:
  • Wholesale Sales Report – Delivered by Day 1
  • Corporate Cost Centre journals and reporting (Marketing, IT, Finance and Admin)
  • Departmental P&L’s and distribution of Monthly Management Package
  • Maintain Fixed Assets Register
  • Book all Accruals (Payroll, Marketing, IT, Finance & Admin)
  • AR and Inventory Reserves
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Margin Analysis Reporting
  • Ensuring the timely delivery and accurate reporting
  • Continue to drive improvement, efficiency, accuracy and automation in the region’s monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes and systems.
  • Provide annual and half year audit support including financial documentation and interaction with external auditors.
  • Monthly commissions calculation
  • Establish cross-functional relationships to promote best practices and process adherence, foster collaboration and teamwork. 
  • Work with the VP Finance, North America to ensure the financial governance and control framework are in place and adhered to across the region.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required
  • In conjunction with Assistant Accountant, manage bank reconciliations and cashflow reporting for the North American region;
  • Ensure all bank accounts are reconciled at least weekly
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in processes in relation to cash management.
  • Monthly Sales Tax Preparation
  • Assistance with Half and Full Year Tax provisions
  • Assistance with the Income Tax Return preparation in collaboration with external taxation advisors
  • Be the business partner to the sales and marketing team and product managers to understand finer details of the monthly P&L results including but not limited to: Margin Dilution Reports and Product Division Reporting
  • Analysis of spend in accordance with Budget/Forecast. 
  • Work with business leaders and VP Finance to develop the annual budget and forecasts based on company-wide targets, needs of the business, and understanding of current spending trends.
  • Providing insightful analysis as required of revenue and expenses to facilitate decision making that will allow the company to stay within budget/forecast. 
  • Build a strong relationship with the Finance team at Global Head Office to assist with timely and useful forecasts and budgets.
  • Have a customer focused approach in everything we do. Aim to provide great customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • As a senior in the Finance team, train and develop others within the team as required
  • Promote a can-do and supportive attitude within the Finance Team
  • Awareness of Brand values and image and can apply the company’s values in their work everyday

Qualifications:
  • Excellent computer skills (particularly in excel, ERP/GL, POS experience)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard working hours as required (End of Month etc)
  • Ability to engage key stakeholders with a high level of communication skills
  • Experience in a retail &/or manufacturing environment is an advantage.
  • Degree qualified
  • CA/CPA Qualified or equivalent
  • Strong communication and management skills.
