Title:
Manager of Cloud Infrastructure Engineering
  • 100% remote (in states listed below)
  • Direct Hire including full benefits
  • Base + Equity
  • Target base range of $150,000-200,000/year (flexible depending on experience)
  • Major focus on team management over deep hands-on technical skills (80% management / 20% hands on)
Overview:
  • Ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies and be able to manage the design, deployment, and maintenance of our cloud-based systems.
  • Cloud Infrastructure team utilizes software development processes such as Agile methodologies, design documentation, source code version control, and CI/CD. 
  • Team develops and maintains shared infrastructure for other engineering teams and provides tools and platforms to enable other teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure
  • Lead and mentor the engineers and guide them along their career path
  • Continuously improve team culture and processes to maintain productive, happy, and fulfilled engineers
  • Manage cloud infrastructure costs by regularly monitoring capacity and recommending changes to reduce costs
  • Plan, prioritize and coordinate projects to support the needs of other engineering teams as well as internally driven projects.  This includes maintaining roadmaps and prioritizing the backlog.
Experience:
  • 3+ years managing cloud infrastructure and/or SRE engineering teams (direct people management)
  • 5+ years of experience as an infrastructure/DevOps engineer or SRE
  • Experience creating and/or improving development processes while reducing developer toil, and improving adherence to those processes
  • Experience working with: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Chef, RabbitMQ
  • Experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
  • Good technical foundation with ability to pick up new skills, adapt quickly, and keep up to date with industry trends
  • Experience and commitment to building secure infrastructure
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust while acting as a servant leader
  • Strong emphasis on automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and documentation
