About the Opportunity:
We are collaborating with a financial services company located in Encinitas and seeking to find an experienced Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller who can take hands-on ownership of the month-end close process and potentially take on direct reports. The company’s finance team is experienced, dedicated, and well-established, providing a clean and organized working environment for you to excel.

Salary: Up to $140,000 + bonus
Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.

  • Lead the accounting team through the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of GL operations, actively participating in the booking of journal entries, the reconciliation process, and financial reporting.
  • Draft technical memos when needed, maintain a documented system of internal controls and procedures, and coordinate with external auditors during annual audit process.

  • Possess a deep understanding of General Ledger functions and be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to actively participate in GL activities.
  • Experience in banking or financial services, particularly in areas related to call reporting and regulatory filings, is highly desirable. This may include experience in credit unions, mortgage banking, credit card services, or other financial services involving simple loans. Experience with family offices engaged in private lending is also relevant.
